My dog ate my RM50 note... went to Bank Negara for help

So your dog ate your money? Welcome to the club!

It happened when my husband was taking out his keys to the door, a RM50 note fell out from his pocket. Since it was dark, he did not notice until morning and all that was left was shreds and pieces.

Sob.. the dogs ate my RM50...
All that was left from the back   :(

So a bit research show that you can actually go to Bank Negara Malaysia to get "mutilated" or damaged notes exchanged for a brand new one.

The guidelines from Bank Negara as per their website at http://www.bnm.gov.my was:-

"There are three categories of redemption value of a mutilated note as follows :-
(i) Full value should be awarded to any piece of note which is more than two-thirds (2/3) in size of the original note or;

(ii) Half value should be awarded to any piece of note which is more than half (1/2) but less than two-thirds (2/3) in size of the original note or;

(iii) No value should be awarded to any piece of note which is less than half (1/2) in size of the original note".

Err.. so my case is 2/3 or 1/2? Plus my notes did not have the full serial number... Yikes!

So I went to Bank Negara to try and was basically given a piece of paper to glue the mutilated notes (see photo below for sample of the white paper). Then the "expert" will determine how many percent is left.

Sample of the white paper

The staff at the counter was sure my case was a total write off but thankfully, perhaps due to the fact that it was during Chinese New Year week, I was given FULL VALUE!

Yippee..! This was good news to the dogs otherwise they might have to fork out RM25 (since I was quite sure that it's more than 1/2) by hook or by crook through food rationing (evil laughing - Hey don't judge me.. RM50 is not money to be eaten by dogs you know).

So as member of this club, now you know about the implications of 2/3 and halves in money changing.

Baby jaundice emergency - what to do in Malaysia

If you have read my previous entry you would have known that my newborn baby was admitted to hospital on Day 6.

I would like to share on the chain of events in the hope that it would prevent others from making the same mistakes as me.

First you must understand that if you are breastfeeding, then do not consume any herbal medication. Read my post breastfeeding-and-eu-yang-sang-products-jaundice.

Secondly to check for jaundice, press on baby skin with your finger. It should NOT be yellow after you release the finger. The most yellow part would start from the head, follow by the chest, arm and getting less at the feet.

Also jaundiced baby are very lethargic. Will only sleep and not wake even for milk.

Medically there are a few ways to check jaundice level but the most accurate method is by blood test.

And by Malaysian standard, the type of treatment is determined by the level of jaundice.
Above 400 - blood exchange
399 - 300 - phototherapy with 2 lights
Below 200 - phototherapy with 1 light

For my case on Day 6 at night, when I went to a pediatric for checkup, the doctor using a light sensor obtained a reading of 28mg/dL approximately 490umol/l.

He immediately recommended hospital admission but did mentioned that with high jaundice level, the light sensor's reading may not be accurate. I requested for a letter. My 1st mistake.

Referral letter from the pediatric to Pantai Cheras
With the letter, I rushed to Pantai Cheras because I delivered there.

I thought with the letter, baby can be admitted immediately. I was wrong!

I was told to wait for my turn to see a general doctor before he can direct me to the proper department.

I was shocked because there were a lot of patients waiting.

The right thing I did was:-
I stood in front of the nurse and refused to take a seat even though she kept telling me to sit.

The 2nd thing I did right was IMMEDIATELY ask if there are any phototherapy light available.
The answer was None!

Imagine if I had waited!!

Having learned this, I then googled for hospitals contact and called the hospitals first to know which have available light.

Results:-
Pantai Ampang and Sunway have but Sunway will only accept the baby and not me as there's no bed for adult available. Plus priorities are given to those who delivered at Sunway.

So I rushed to Pantai Ampang. Again I have to wait at the emergency room.. And it's no surprise that there's a crowd. But the nurses fast tracked me and I got to see a doctor soon.

When she saw the report and the high reading of 490, she gave us 2 options.

First - get a blood test to confirm the level.

a) If the reading is confirmed higher than 400 then baby will need blood exchange which Pantai Ampang does not have facility.

b) If the reading is lower than 400 then we can be admitted.

It is really not an option because it takes time to do the blood test and we would have wasted precious time if the reading is indeed more than 400.

So we chose to go to a government hospital in case the reading is really that high.

Again we made a MISTAKE of asking for Pantai Ampang doctor's referral letter.

Anyway with the letter we went to HUKM as only government hospitals have the proper facility for blood exchange.

AT HUKM
Once in HUKM we waited, yes waited to see the medical officer to take the blood, then wait even more (total of 5 long hours to be exact) in HUKM for the blood test.

The level was confirmed as 361.

Good news that baby don't need blood exchange.

Bad news - HUKM do not have bed available for us.

The medical officer told us to try HKL. I immediately broke down and cried.

By God's grace the medical officer took pity on us and helped us to get a place in the maternity ward instead of the NICU (Neonatal ICU).

By 3am, Baby was finally admitted and had to go through phototherapy with 2 lights and blood test every 6 hours (taken from the wrist) to monitor the jaundice level.

So my ordeal to get him admitted began 7pm and ended at 3am (8hours) that night and through all these hours all I did was keep feeding him breast milk.

In the ward, I set alarm every 2 hours and even carried him on my chest as he sleep under the light.

Thanks to all the prayers, breast milk and the fact that both me and baby are of same blood group, the level drop from 361 on admission date on to 273 in 43 hours.

Also a big thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staffs at HUKM for saving my baby's life!!

In addition, upon discharge, HUKM recommended a follow up audio test because high jaundice besides affecting the brain could also damage a baby hearing. Will blog on this experience in the future.

UPDATES:- click audio-test-for-baby to know more about this test.

So what have I learnt:-

1) Always know which hospitals are the nearest to you and which have the best emergency service.
Knowing your options will save you time.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

2) If you decide to go to emergency government hospital, never ask for referral letters from other hospitals.

Having letters gave the impression that government hospitals are your last minute options. You only went to them because the private hospital rejected you or do not have the facility to treat you.

If you just go there with any medical emergency, like for my case, baby high jaundice, you have better chance of being accepted without any letters.

That is because throughout the conversation between the medical officer (MO) and the pediatric doctor in HUKM on the phone, I kept hearing the MO saying that we went to KPJ (which is govt staff lingo for private hospital) and they did not accept our case for a good 3 minutes before the doctor on the other end rejected us by saying there is no bed available.

This is my personal opinion because I feel that if they are really full, they would have rejected us outright instead of having that long conversation.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

3) Referral letters cost money $$. My bill at the pediatric was RM70 and RM102.15 at Pantai Ampang.

RM102.15 for medical advice only. There were no medical tests done at all except taking of body temperature. I suspect the amount is for the referral letter which is now in HUKM's record.

RM70 bill from the pediatric
RM102.15 bill from Pantai Ampang

Saving Trend

Just a thought:- Is it possible to find coin boxes nowadays?

Do children save money in coin boxes nowadays? Or does the parent even teach their children to save money?

Or have coin boxes become obsolete and suffered the same fate as cassette tapes and camera films?

How many people can remember the old clay coin boxes which does not have a bottom opening as the only way to get the money out is to break it?

These used to come in designs of chicken.. perhaps it is synonym to chicken storing and laying eggs :D but for the westerners, they prefer the piggy bank design.

Do share your experiences if your children does save and how do you encourage them to save.

Bail Procedure in Malaysia

Recently I had to attend criminal court because a friend was unwittingly implicated in a voluntarily causing hurt case or better known as a s323 case because the offence is punishable under section 323 of the Penal Code.

So I went for the remand order [RO] hearing. Because for the police to detain him for more than 48 hours, there must be an order from the Magistrates.

But of course we would like to bail him out because if not he will be sent to the Sungai Buloh prison.

Apparently:-
- an accused are not allowed any visitation rights during their first week.
- convicted are not allowed visitation during their first month there.

HOW TO POST BAIL
But in order to post bail, you MUST make sure you have sufficient money with you or in the bank as there are ATM machines in the court premise.

Basically once bail is allow by the court, you have to go downstairs to the bail counter which will issue a letter to you.

With this letter, you can then open a special savings account in any bank and a savings account book [savings book] will be issued.

You will then deposit the savings book with the court.

So you do not actually pay cash or cheque to the court, which is quite dangerous. Also with this method, the court can ensure that you cannot withdraw the money.

Each bail will have its own specific instructions. For example, the accused must:-
a) report himself every month to a police station specified by the accused
b) surrender his passport
c) not to go near the complainant or complainant's families

And most importantly, both the accused and the bailor attend court on any given future court hearing or mention dates. Failure to attend court will result the bail money being forfeited.

Even with medical reasons, the bailor must attend court and inform the court with valid proof and all these record of attendance must happen before the court starts hearing at 9am.

Young money makers

These are becoming more and more common sight in Kuala Lumpur.

The presence of young children "selling" or getting donations for religious booklets.

Their approach is simple.

They basically HAND YOU a very small thin booklet and a person's natural instinct is to take it, cos we are so accustomed to receiving pamphlet, flyers and even free samples.

But once you take it, they will ask you for a 'donation'.

I have witnessed many who are caught in a dilemma.

On one hand they feel obliged to give, but on the other, they know that by giving, they are encouraging this unhealthy practice or even syndicate.

This boy in the photo does not look local.

I've even seen a young girl with color eyeshadow on. Too bad I don't have a photo of her cos it was the first time I witnessed a young child being used to make money this way.

She approached her "victim" as he was about to cross the road. I sensed his hesitation to give the money, so I just stepped in and asked if she have IC or Malaysian identification card.

She ignored me. I asked if she have passport. This time she just shrugged and took back the book from the guy's hand and went off.

This happened in front of Sogo KL entrance but today I saw this boy doing this inside Sogo.

It's really a dilemma on whether to give or not. You might seem "mean" not to give but in my opinion giving is really not an option because if from young they learn this "trade", this trade will not support their livelihood when they grow up.

So what are they going to do then? With no other working skills except begging, chances are they will just "recruit" (read: give birth to) young children who will continue this "trade" for them.

Something should be done fast to stop this social menace from spreading as children should be at school studying, learning.. Not scamming or begging.

No giving = no income, no income then they will have to look for other means for sustenance. And hopefully this other means does not involve begging but real work.

Objection to DBKL 2014 assessment - conclusion of the hearing

There was much fiasco when DBKL announced the increase in the annual value of the property hence increasing the annual amount payable for assessment for 2014.

Naturally I objected and wrote in a letter together with the rest of the residents of Mutiara Bukit Jalil.

We received letters from DBKL of our hearing on 6 January 2014 @ 1015am but some of us were late (myself included) hence there were 2 batches of people who attended the hearing today.

We were ushered in meeting room 1 with 6 DBKL staffs seated on the opposite side and the gist of the meeting were:-

1) DBKL are aware that:-
a) our area is relatively new - 5 years for phase 1
b) 90% of residents are the owners.. not renting
c) we are not satisfied with the services provided in terms of street lights, drain cleaning, road repair, cutting of grass and stray dogs problem.
d) plus there is a cement plant nearby (less than 50m) which operates until 10pm.

2) DBKL did cite rise of costs for example:-
a) Alam Flora per trip has increased from RM20plus to RM30plus and is due to increase to RM40plus per trip
b) cost of cutting grass has also doubled
c) electric tariffs is due to increase and therefore translate to higher costs to DBKL to provide the street lights

3) we raise the fact that DBKL must be more efficient in their work but DBKL countered that this is not the jurisdiction of the group in the meeting plus this is not the subject of today's hearing.

4) as an incentive to the KL folks, the mayor has announced an subsidy (subject to application) for people with disability, retirees and owners staying in their own premise. But note this incentive is only for year 2014.

5) for premise which are unoccupied, then the owner must write in with proof (example utilities bills) for reduction or waiver of the assessment fee.

6) there was a staff (whom I find quite snobbish) who mentioned that under the local authority act, DBKL have the right to:-
a) charge any rate subject to a maximum of 35%
b) review the above % rate every 5 years
c) review the annual value (RM) every year
but DBKL has been gracious not to do so but charge only 6% for more than 20 years.

If you look at the letter informing of the hearing date, it mentioned that the rate will be lowered to 4% but again this rate is applicable for 2014 only.

So who knows what will happen after 2014..

7) DBKL mentioned that this rise in assessment has been in their agenda for the past year and therefore has nothing to do with GE13 (General Election 2013) and it was just bad luck that it announced concurrently with so many other increase in living costs.

ANYWAY IN CONCLUSION, there are a total of 166,000 objections (so few or did I hear wrongly??) and it will take DBKL until March 2014 to hear all the objections before they can give a final verdict.

So we will just have to wait till then for us to know if our efforts in objection and attending the hearing will pay off.

No more cheques but IBG come 2014

It's time to make a SWITCH from issuing to cheques to IBG (Inter Bank Giro) because effective 1 April 2014, a cheque processing fee of RM0.50 will be imposed in addition to the RM0.15 stamp duty per cheque leaf.

So that means that when you issue a cheque, you are losing another RM0.65 which you can save if you use IBG which is only RM0.10 per transaction.

In addition, not only is IBG cheaper, it's also faster than cheque, which is:-

Days
Cut-off Time
Funds Availability
Monday to Friday
Before 12:00 noon
After 12:00 noon

Same day
Next working day
Sat, Sun n Federal Territory P.Holiday
Not applicable
Next working day

Bear in mind there is another option of INSTANT IBG but it cost RM2.00 per transactions.

IBG transactions are pretty simple but first and foremost you must have online access to your bank account (savings / current).

HOW TO DO IT:-
Once you have signed up for online banking, then you'll just need to add the recipients under your favourite IBG. Select the name of bank, types of transfer ie.

Fund transfer - means transfer to another savings / current account
Credit card payment
Loan payment
Hire purchase

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Note:- FYI my house repayment is consider a fund transfer because it's flexi loan where I was given a current account number complete with cheque book.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Then you key in the recipient account number and name. There is another layer of security (eg. NRIC number etc) but you can opt out of it.

Everything is pretty straightforward and if do do encounter any problem, just give the bank's customer service a call. I'm sure they can assist you in using IBG.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

BUT have you pause to wonder why the sudden increase in cheque processing fee to encourage customers to use IBG or internet. Why?

Well one rationale is so that it will be easier for Bank Negara to monitor money flow and curb money laundering because with cheques, you can issue cash cheques to people who do not own any bank accounts.

But with IBG, it will be transactions between bank account holders and thus easier for Bank Negara to trace the money ie. where your money comes from and where it goes to.

Not to say that you cannot issue cheques anymore but in the event that you do, our government still stand to benefit because 50sen does work out to quite a "handsome" extra income at the end of the day.

AmBank Group Countdown to 2014

Since I am an regular AmBank online user, couldn't help but noticed that AmBank Group will be organizing a special countdown to 2014 in Putrajaya Precinct 3.

The main attractions of the event are special guest appearances by top notch local singers as well as fireworks display at the stroke of midnight.

But what is striking is that, at the cost of sounding a bit racist, the only chinese performer is Soo Wincci but the other guests are really really good and accomplished malay singers like Dato' M Nasir, Dato' Jamal Abdillah and the ever popular Amy Search and Ella to name a few..

Not that Soo Wincci is not good but I can't help but feel that I would like to see more accomplished chinese singers like Penny Tai, Fish Leong, Michael Wong or Victor Wong or even Ah Niu who are somewhat of same calibre with these awesome malay singers.

Dont tell me AmBank can invite Dato' M Nasir etc but cant afford to invite Michael Wong??

But then again this could be wishful thinking since many of them decide to grow their talent outside of Malaysia, but I do know that many of them are really proud of their malaysian heritage.

But alas, when chinese complained that they are overlooked, the indian also have cause for concern since Malaysia is represented by 3 major races (not including the huge number of migrant workers who showed up our neighbourhood) but I think Mista G will be there to reach out to the indians that night.

So if you have the time and want to celebrate the countdown in a big way, why not head down to Precinct 3 for some fireworks and local stars studded event!

When life throws you lemons, make lemonade

You know it's time to wash your car when you can write words on your windscreen.

My sister recently found someone had written, "I hate you" on the back of her car windscreen.

My immediate response:- So do I

I'm the type that, more than just making lemonade, I'll become a sourpuss as well..

And to that remark I can add other responses like:-

1) Why???
2) Tell it to my face, you coward!
3) Whatever..
4) Get a life!
5) Do I know you??
6) Duh? Like I care..
7) Grow up
8) You are not the first
9) Great.. At least it's mutual!
10) Come again??

Fake RM100 notes

Malaysia launched a new set of banknotes in 2012 and come 2013 we have counterfeits.. Talk about efficiency!

We came across one of these yesterday and here's how it looks like:-

The songket design is a series of blurred lines in the fake note

The real RM100 has distinct songket design in the background

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Again distinct songket design in the background

 * * * * * * * * * * * * *

From these photos it seems that the best ways to tell a fake are from the lack of watermark and lack of details in the songket print.

A little bit about myself

I choose to start my blog on 5.5.2013 because today is a significant day for all Malaysians. It is our election day.. It will be a day of either “Kali inilah” or “Lain kalilah” which literally means this is it and maybe next time.

Anyhow this is not why I start this blog. I actually started blogging 3 years ago for my company, dealing with fashion and I enjoyed reading blogs and blogging. I especially enjoyed reviewing products cos I liked to try new products.

By blogging I hope to warn others about products which don’t work and compliment those which did.

My friends know me as someone who is very detailed. I give very good directions as I can remember small details well. This comes from sitting as a passenger and daydreaming whilst looking at insignificant landmarks, such as signboards, houses, billboards etc.

An  example of what you can expect from my blog is my trip from Hong Kong to Macau. I asked 2 friends who were there recently how to get to St Paul’s ruin.

One just said that transportation is very easy in Macau. There are free shuttle buses all over.

Another googled map St Paul’s ruin and showed me the spot on the map.

Both these explanations were not very helpful.

From my experience this is how I would explain it:-
It’s quite complicated to get to St Paul’s ruin as the roads in Macau are not in a straight line. Blame in on lack of urban planning many many years ago.

Easiest way is to take a cab.

Cheapest way is to take a bus from the ferry terminal then walk. But note that buses in Macau only accept Macau currency. So if you are coming from Hong Kong, make sure you have some spare coins before you wait for your bus.

As for walking, follow the directions of the people walking opposite your direction. They will be carrying the famous Macau almonds biscuits or egg tarts plastic bags. Trust me, most visitors will buy these stuffs.

If you are lost, police are not much help as in asking for direction, they don’t even look you in the eyes when answering (guess I would be like that too if I have to answer the same question everyday).

Expect about 30 minutes walk as you’ll get lost along the way plus you’ll be taking photos as you walk. Macau is very picturesque.

I would then go on to explain that Macau is actually 3 islands but the bottom 2 islands have been “joined” by reclaimed land and is now known as Cotai Strip, which is where all the new casinos are located. The most famous and biggest being The Venetian. St Paul's ruin is located in Macau Peninsula.

The first advice given to me was correct in the sense that, yes there are a lot of free shuttle buses provided your destination is FROM a popular tourist spot TO any big hotels! Or FROM major hotels to ferry terminals.

Meaning there are no free shuttle buses to St Paul’s ruin or any other ruins for that matter.

So that is a little about me. Miss Details. Hope you’ll enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing them.

Can technology help find these thieves?

Saw this post in Facebook today and immediately downloaded DropBox to my smartphone.

But it will be interesting to see if Ranimah can locate her note and laptop with this photo.

It's quite a clear photo of the perpetrators, so let's keep our fingers crossed.

Know them? They are thieves!
【前线人肉搜索警报】偷人家的note然後拿來自拍,
結果照片上傳,樣子拍得很清楚
請網民人肉搜索出這兩個偷別人東西還沾沾自喜的人
Assalamualaikum friends, my note 10.1 and laptop were stolen on January 4 this year from a restaurant in Seri Kembangan area. I installed dropbox in all my gadgets including the ones being stolen, and it is my habit to import every photos to my dropbox account. While importing the photos last week, I noticed several unfamiliar faces inside my dropbox camera uploads folder and it came to my mind yesterday that these are the faces who stole my gadgets. Look at these faces, they are so proud modelling my note inside public toilet, they didn't even bother to change the cover (you know pink is one of my fav colour, and I definitely recognised this pink cover). I believe they didn't sign out or delete my dropbox folder inside the note and that's why their photos imported to my folder. I am going to do police report today with these photos but I hope to locate the thieves, anyone have seen them before? Please help me to share this photo and locate the thieves, I hope to find back my laptop too.

Between Coconut n Olive

Life is so ironic.

Seriously! Perfect example:-

My Turkish boss was planning a trip back to Turkey and a malaysian friend asked him to look for an olive oil supplement for him as the price here is higher and the brand is from Turkey.

So when he is Turkey, while he was looking for this olive oil, a turkish friend asked him to look for a coconut  oil supplement as the price there is higher.

Both these friends were adamant that the respective oil works wonder for them!

Just goes to show that human are never satisfied with what we already have. Seriously coconut is very cheap in Malaysia and we have plenty of them.. Guess the guy in Turkey will say the same about olive oil ;p

In conclusion, my boss couldn't find that particular brand of olive oil supplement in Turkey.. Not sure if he found the coconut oil in Malaysia. I think the chances of finding the same brand here are quite slim.

Wallet Friendly Public Transportation in Singapore

I really liked Singapore's public transportation cos it has gotten better over the years.

A very good example is how the fare is now calculated based on your JOURNEY, meaning you can go from point A to point B with various modes of transport (bus and MRT) and the fares are adjusted according to your final destination, which is seen as a whole rather than individual trip.

EXAMPLE to travel from Harbourfront (Sentosa) to Bedok blok 534 I would need to take the MRT then change to bus.

Under standard fare calculations it would be SS1.66 for the MRT ride and then S$0.73 for bus ride BUT under the new system the total fare would be S$1.70 only!! Wow!!

But note that you'll need a singapore EZ-Link card to enjoy these rates.

Another cool point is this system is that it allows you 45 minutes of transit time between stops.

The full terms of the TRANSFER RULES are:-

1) Maximum of 5 transfers within a single journey, with a 45 minute allowance between each transfer.
2) All journeys must be completed within 2 hours.
3) Single entry and exit for rail travel.
4) Same bus service number must not be taken more than once in a journey.

You can click the link below to have a go at the new fare system.

Can we have cleaner highways please!!

Was in Bangkok last month and the moment I was in the taxi I noticed something which I never see in Kuala Lumpur.

Highways which are "posters-free"!!

There are NO
Bank Lelong (bank auction of properties) or
Ah Long (loan sharks) or
Urut (massage) ads..

Nothing!! All the pillars and road signs were completely "clean", devoid of any stickers or ads!!

Compare these with what we Kuala Lumpur drivers face everyday...

What have the Thai government or local authority done differently?? Hmm...

Asiathique Riverfront Night Market

A funny thing happened during my trip to Bangkok, Thailand.

We were happily walking around this new night market venue called Asiathique (for how to get to Asiathique, jump right to the bottom half).

We were happily exploring Asiathique especially since it's quite big with a few buildings which they numbered as  "Warehouse 1", "Warehouse 2" and so on.

Then we came to the eateries or restaurants section when we saw this guy and girl standing about 10 feet across each other, motionless.. looking at each other.

We were stumped.. like.. what is happening?? Is he proposing to the girl or something cos they were like exactly across each other, not moving and standing still.

But when we look around us, we noticed the same thing with everyone around us.. Then only we noticed the place was playing a song.. Thailand's national anthem!

Wow!! Such respect for the national anthem! Not sure what will happen in Kuala Lumpur if the shopping malls like Sogo played Negaraku (the name of Malaysia's national anthem), would anyone notice and show respect.

Kudos to the Thai government for instilling love for all things Thai!

ASIATHIQUE Riverfront
Getting there:-
You can take a cab there but the best experience is by FREE shuttle boat just adjacent to Taksin skytrain (BTS) station.

Note:-
1) The place is only open from 5pm so the boat only starts about 430pm. We were there early so we killed time at a shopping mall nearby Taksin BTS station. The boat ride takes about 30minutes.

2) Go there early as there can be quite a long queue for the boat ride from Taksin station at night.

3) A good itinerary is to go Asiatique, then take the shuttle boat from Asiathique to Taksin boat station, from there change to another boat to Chinatown.

The boat ride from Taksin to Chinatown station by boat costs 20Baht per person. It takes about 3- 4 stops to reach. Ask around for help on when to alight.

From the Chinatown boat station, take a tuk tuk to Chinatown to eat at the famous T n K seafood (their staffs wear green shirts).

I tried to walk from the boat station to T n K - it's too far and felt dangerous since it was already nightime. Plus there are plenty of tuk tuk waiting at the boat station and they are quite cheap.. so save your energy and take tuk tuk.

The food at T n K is quite good but definitely cheaper than KL and the plus points are the prices are already written in the menu, so you wont be overcharged later.

We had a steamed fish, seafood tomyam, grilled prawns, kangkung vegetables, rice and coke for 700 Baht. What a feast!
